The Pub and Restaurant
The Pub and Restaurant
Located on the historic Lincoln Square in downtown Gettysburg, The Pub & Restaurant has been a landmark for many years. This establishment features a dining room and bar with pub style seating. During spring, summer and fall, there is also outdoor seating that features beautiful greenery and flowers. Siting a bit of history, in February 2001, the Pub suffered a devastating fire that resulted in total loss of the restaurant. The owner rebuilt an exact replica of the original building inside and out and was able to reopen its doors in April 2002. It is currently offering a limited time menu due to COVID, but will be going back to their traditional menu as restrictions ease. But don’t let that limited menu deter you from stopping in and enjoying a great meal. The current menu offers some culinary delights including Marinated Catfish, Grimster’s Beef which is beef brisket sautéed with onions and mushrooms in a garlic herb butter topped with Monterey Jack and au jus on a baguette, and of course the famous Pub’s Cream of Crab soup featuring lumps of crab meat in a creamy base. There are also salad options offered. Desserts have always been a specialty at The Pub. Favorites include the Chocolate peanut butter madness cake, Carrot Cake Supreme with cream cheese icing, and the triple chocolate torte. Don’t forget to add a specialty drink or brew to your lunch or dinner. During tourist season, please call ahead for reservations and visit their website for current hours and menu options.
When you are finished with your meal at The Pub, make sure you stop next door at The Gettysburg Baking Company. Offering fresh breads, pastries, and grab-and-go hand held meat options, this bakery has been baking in the Adams County community since 1996. Their signature Sourdough provides you with many benefits resulting from extended fermentation making this loaf more digestible. They also offer many coffee options including expresso. Stop by and take a treat home with you to enjoy later. Located at 17 Lincoln Square, they are open every day except Monday.
