If you’re planning a trip to Gettysburg to see the new Amblebrook community in August, I wanted to give you some upcoming events scheduled that you may be interested in checking out.  I’ve listed them below with dates and basic information.

August 6th – Bounty of the County – Celebrate the bounty of harvest from local orchards around Adams County with this annual foodie event.  Chefs at restaurants around Adams County have crafted special menus that feature locally grown produce in new dishes and beverages.  To participate, visit www.adfga.info/restaurants.  Order off a special menu of items made specifically for this event ant support the Adams County Fruit Growers Assoc.  

August 19th -  Bluegrass Festival – Granite Hill Camping Resort has been the home to the internationally acclaimed Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival since 1979.  This festival is a celebration and presentation of traditional and contemporary bluegrass music with a sprinkling of classic country, newgrass, and other related acoustic styles. August 21st and September 18th -  Antique & Vintage Outdoor Market – Join Rebel’s Roost from 9:00am – 5:00pm for the best outdoor market in the area.  Enjoy a day of treasure hunting, food trucks and shopping all in one location.  Located at the Outlet Shoppes in Gettysburg, visit www.theoutletshoppesatgettysburg.com for more information.

August 27th and September 24th – Sunset at the Seminary Walking Tours – Join Seminary Ridge Museum and Education Center staff at 6:30pm for special walking tours.  Each tour will examine a specific aspect of Seminary Ridge before, during, and after the Battle of Gettysburg, Special focus will be paid to people who lived and fought there.  Visit destinationgettysburg.com for more details.
